Two-step login
Protect your account with a code from your phone as well as your password.
With two-step login on, logging in needs your password and a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Someone who finds out your password still can’t get in.
Turn it on
- Install an authenticator app if you haven’t got one: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator and 1Password all work.
- In Chatterbell, open the profile button → Your profile and alerts → Two-step login → Turn on two-step login, and enter your password.
- Scan the QR code with the authenticator app. On a phone, tap Open in my authenticator app instead, or copy the key into the app.
- Type the 6-digit code the app shows, then save your backup codes somewhere safe, like a password manager.
Logging in
After your password, type the code your app shows for Chatterbell. Tick Don’t ask again on this device for 30 days on computers and phones only you use. It works the same in the Chatterbell apps.
Lost your phone?
- On the code screen, choose Use a backup code. Each backup code works once, and we email you when one is used.
- Running low? Make new ones under Two-step login → New backup codes. The old ones stop working.
- No phone and no backup codes? Email us from your sign-in address and we’ll check it’s you before turning two-step login off.
Turn it off
Under Two-step login → Turn off, with your password and a code. We email you whenever it’s turned on or off, so you’ll know if it wasn’t you.
Still stuck?Ask in the chat in the corner (a real person reads it too), or email hello@chatterbell.com.
